Nichols Career Center Program of Practical Nursing is an intensive one year full time educational program with daytime classes meeting Monday through Thursday. The course of study prepares students to perform all skills that are legal for practical nurses in the State of Missouri including I.V. Therapy.

Fully approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing. Practical Nursing begins in August and is completed the following July. Students attend class Monday-Thursday from 8:00 AM -4:30 PM. Clinicals, which begin in December, are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Clinical hours typically run from 6:45 AM-3:30 PM; but times may vary. Once clinicals begin, classes continue on Mondays and Thursdays.Classes are held at the Career Center and clinical experience is obtained in local hospitals, nursing homes, area schools and other health agencies.

Successful completion of the program will qualify students to apply to take the State Board of Nursing examination to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. The program does not guarantee eligibility to take the licensure exam.
